Ledger® Live: Login — Getting Started™

Ledger Live is the official application to manage your Ledger hardware wallet. Secure login ensures you can safely access your accounts, send and receive cryptocurrencies, and monitor your portfolio. This guide walks you through the login process, setup, and security best practices.

Step 1: Download Ledger Live

Visit the official site: Ledger.com/ledger-live. Download the latest version for your operating system (Windows, macOS, Linux) or mobile device.

Install the application following the on-screen instructions. Make sure you always download Ledger Live from the official site to avoid phishing or malicious software.

Step 2: Connect Your Ledger Device

Use the USB cable provided with your Ledger hardware wallet to connect your device to your computer or mobile device.

Ledger Nano S: connect via USB-C adapter if necessary.
Ledger Nano X: connect via USB-C or Bluetooth for mobile.

Step 3: Launch Ledger Live and Start Login

Open Ledger Live and choose Get Started.
Select your device type (Nano S, Nano X, or Nano S Plus).
Choose whether to Set up as new device or Restore from recovery phrase.
Enter your PIN directly on the Ledger device when prompted.
Confirm the device is properly recognized by Ledger Live.

Note: PIN entry always occurs on the device screen, never on your computer. This ensures your private keys remain secure and offline.

Step 4: Access Your Portfolio

Once logged in, Ledger Live displays your portfolio, transaction history, and cryptocurrency balances. You can:

Send and receive funds securely.
Install or uninstall apps for supported cryptocurrencies on your Ledger device.

Never share your recovery phrase, PIN, or passphrase.

Troubleshooting Login Issues

Device Not Detected

Check your USB cable and ports, restart Ledger Live, and reconnect your device. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled for Ledger Nano X if using a mobile device.

Forgot PIN

If you forget your PIN, reset your Ledger device and restore it using your 24-word recovery phrase. Without the recovery phrase, funds are unrecoverable.

Ensure your recovery phrase is entered correctly with proper word order, spelling, and spacing when restoring a device.
